Recently stumbled across this cool video produced by Vodafone. 1,000 cellphones along with 2,000 text messages play Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture in an innovative (yet disturbingly time-wasting) production.
Intrigued? There’s apparently a followup video that shows us how Vodafone orchestrated (pun intended) the whole thing in an Auckland, New Zealand studio.

Amazing that someone would 1) have the idea to do this and 2) take the time and energy to do it, although the finished product is pretty cool. However, being the age I am, I can never hear that clip of sound without thinking of a very old commercial for some kind of puffed cereal: “It’s the cer-e-al that’s shot from guns!” which showed cereal coming out of cannons to that music. Another question, why is some of my mental filing cabinet space taken up with this memory?
