Photos, music and video, this sexy little gadget has got it all–and a lot of it. You’d be hard pressed to fill up all 80 GB with music and photos–we’re talking in the neighborhood of 14,000 songs and 1000 high res photos! So why not throw some movies on there; with the bright, wide screen, and increased battery life, this iPod will get you through everything from the boring layover at JFK to the 30 hour bus ride through Peru. Make sure to grab a case to keep it dry and in one piece; this is a gadget you want to get some mileage out of, but it’s worth every penny.

Apple iPod 80Gb sells for $249 and 160Gb sells for $349. The price mentioned here ($599) is completely off.

The link goes to Amazon though, with a price tag of $599 – so seems accurate. Maybe because it's the latest generation?

Or maybe because this iPod has video and there are music-only models that have 80Gb of space and sell for $249..

    1. Amazon is not God
    2. Matador should not rely on 'maybe' when suggesting 'ultimate travel companion'. In fact, it's not a good idea to suggest any purchase to readers before conducting good research

The amazon link posted here is for Gen 5.5 iPod which sold for $599 in 2006. A newer version Gen 6.0 iPod sells for $249 or less. Both can play videos.

The least Matador can do is update the post to provide better information to its readers.

You're absolutely right, Zishaan: the Gen 6 is a lot cheaper. Link and price have been updated. Photo will be updated tomorrow. Thanks for the comment. As far as 'product review', I stand by all my statements that the 80Gb iPod IS a traveler's best friend on a long trip..and at that Gen 6 price, it's a must have.
