Even in the digital age, is there anything more exciting for a child than a package arriving in the mail? And if that package is from an exotic, far-off country, all the better! The creators of Little Passports use a combination of real, tangible items and interactive online games that are guaranteed to get kids excited to learn about our neighbors around the globe.

As a Little Passports member, your child will receive a package every month from “Sam” and “Sofia”, their traveling friends. Each package will include a personalized letter describing their current location, as well as local souvenirs and fun activities. And the fun doesn’t stop there! Also included is a collectible boarding pass with a secret access code, which kids can use to log into a “Boarding Zone” online with lots of country-specific games.

For their first year with Little Passports, Sam and Sofia will guide children through countries like Japan, Brazil, Mexico, China, France, Australia, Egypt and South Africa.

Price: $10.95/month

The closest thing I had to a passport was in the 2nd grade, when I believe we did a geography class scavenger hunt for information around the world, getting a custom passport stamped along the way.

I find that adorable. What a great way for small children to start learning about other cultures. I do remember being young and how getting ANYTHING in the mail with your name on it was seriously exciting!

What a neat idea! All kids are curious by nature so I’m sure this is one of those things that every kid would love! I wish I’d had one when I was little! :)

I have read about this Little Passports children’s magazine extensively and my husband and I have decided to purchase a subscription for our 8 year old grandson for Christmas. I cannot tell you the number of times I have gone on their website and the difficulty I am having placing the order. I can’t e-mail, a message comes up that it can’t be done at this time. I’ve tried e-mailing from their pages and also from my own e-mail account but the result is the same. Not possible. If anyone of any knowledge of the proper procedure to use reads this, I would love a reply and suggestion. This experience has been most frustrating as we are excited about this choice of gift. We know he would enjoy it!!! HELP!
