Ever felt like you could just fall asleep on your feet? Now you can snooze while standing in total comfort.

The Office for the Development of Substitute Materials brings us the Vertical Bed, an ingenious contraption that fully collapses to fit into a briefcase.

The Vertical Bed provides total support for body weight when attached to subway ventilation grating. The components include noise-cancelling headphones, opaque sunglasses, and a free standing umbrella case. (An ideal feature for future versions might be some sort of alarm system to ward off pick-pockets.)

Want to see it in action? Check out this time lapse video of a man taking a 40 minute nap at Broadway and 33rd St. in New York.

Don’t know if I’d use it on the street, but definitely an interesting idea!
