Thanks to Planet eBook, I can finally finish up Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy without having to lug around a 700+ page beast of a book.

Planet eBook touts itself as the “home of free classic literature”. A generous collection of classic novels have been provided in downloadable, high-quality PDF documents.

Titles available for download (amongst its 70+ online novels) include:

Very nice, gotta love that public domain law. This is a great idea.

Nice! I hadn’t heard of Planet eBook until now: I’ve been using Project Gutenberg (http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page) for my classic eBook perusal.

The more sites the merrier, though, as I’ve recently sworn off purchasing any new books that can’t be had as eBooks in hopes that others will do the same and speed up the publisher’s conversion to the new format. eBooks are more convenient, most cost-effective and much better for the environment than traditional printed books.
